Happiest of Sundays peeps!
As always I have had a ridiculously busy week made even busier by the time of year. June is the time of half yearly developmental summaries and I have been snowed under getting these written in time to hand out to families this week. I spent yesterday proofreading and adding any little extra bits I thought they needed. I love writing theses summaries; even though they are very time consuming; sharing with families all the wonderful things their children are learning and letting them know how much I value and care for them. Being an educator is something I am thankful for every day; nurturing and loving the children in my care and hopefully making a difference in their lives.
I am thankful for the long days. Doing 10 hour shifts means that I only work 4 days a week; getting Wednesdays off to do whatever. Usually it involves reading a book…often, like this Wednesday, it involves a catch up with my sister…having brunch and getting our groceries together. Sometimes I cook; sometimes I blog; sometimes I study. Sometimes I do nothing at all….making Wednesday my favourite day of the week.

This Is Why I Heart Wednesdays
If Wednesday is my favourite day of the week, then Friday is my favourite night….family movie night. This week my teenage daughter needed a “big PHAT cry” …(apparently)… so we watched Five Feet Apart….and cry we did. I don’t normally say this but the movie was way better than the book (sorry bookish peeps). I connected to the characters in a way that I just couldn’t in the book. It was so good!
So this week I am thankful for:
- a job I love
- movies that make you feel something
- movie adaptations that are actually better than the book
- slow-cooker weather
- the delicious beef and vegetable casserole that slow cooked all day
- long hot baths listening to my audiobook with eyes closed
- quality time with family
What are you thankful for?
