Here’s a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. All you have to do is answer 3 questions:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you will read next?
Link your blog in the comments at Sam’s weekly post and then go blog hopping to find out what others are reading.
It’s been quite a while since I participated in WWW Wednesday…last year in fact…and there has been so much reading going on since then.
Currently reading:
Silver Sparrow by Tayari Jones…”With the opening line of Silver Sparrow, “My father, James Witherspoon, is a bigamist,” author Tayari Jones unveils a breathtaking story about a man’s deception, a family’s complicity, and the two teenage girls caught in the middle” (from Goodreads)…….how could I resist reading this? Such a pretty cover and an interesting read so far.
The Gifted School by Bruce Holsinger…my current audiobook…I’m not a big fan of the narration, and I’ve really only just gotten past all of the character introductions (and there are many) so I don’t really know how I feel about this one yet. I have seen so many mixed reviews but I wanted to read it for myself before passing judgement.
I’m STILL rereading Little Women by Louisa May Alcott but only in dribs and drabs; having lost interest. I’m not usually a rereader…in fact I can’t recall any novel I have ever felt compelled to reread. I think it might be time to shelve it.
Recently finished:
Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows by Balli Kaur Jaswal….A novel I’ve been wanting to read for quite some time and a Christmas gift from my hubby; I suprised myself with how much I enjoyed this book; giving it 5 stars.
Night Music by Jojo Moyes…Hot on the tail of The Giver of Stars, I thought I’d try another of Moyes’ novels and I wasn’t disappointed.
How To Be Second Best by Jessica Dettman….touted as funny…and there were some LOL moments….but mostly I was cringing inwardly, embarrassed for the protaganist and how she was running her life off into a ditch. Even as she was trying to get her ‘stuff’ together, I wanted to yell at her.
Forever Interrupted by Taylor Jenkins Reid….my favourite and most read author of 2019, I’m just working through her back catalogue as I find them in my local bookstore.
The Subjects by Sarah Hopkins…a NetGalley read that sounded really interesting in the blurb but kinda fell short….if I’m honest I only finished it a few days ago…reading it in one sitting…but I’ve already forgotten most of what it was about.
Up next:
I have quite a few NetGalley eARCs waiting for my attention, so I think I’ll have to start on those pretty soon. What I really need to do is get a diary or reading journal so that I can start keeping track of all the books I need to get to and by when. How do you keep track of all your books and reading commitments?
What are your 3 W’s this Wednesday? Let me know below and….. Happy reading!

I just have a TBR list on my phone which is working well for me right now!

I have a lot of little lists, reminders and things on my phone but I was I’ve just purchased a pretty little diary which I am going to use strictly for bookish things…that’s the plan anyway. 🙂

I once did an online class on historical fiction with Bruce Holsinger, so I always sit up and take notice when I see his name! I didn’t actually get on with his fiction, though… I hope it turns out to be a pick for you, though!

Thanks Nikki…I’m not that far into it yet so only time will tell how I’ll feel about it by the end.

The first time I tried reading Little Women, I also lost interest, but tried reading a few years later and it worked for me. Haven’t seen the new movie yet. Happy Reading! https://teripolen.com/2020/01/15/www-wednesdays-what-am-i-reading-amreading-7/

Night Music sounds like a really interesting read! I’m gonna have to check that author out.
I only *just* got organized with the whole ARC thing this year, and might I recommend Kal @ Reader Voracious’ blogger spreadsheet? I just found it this year, and I’m already in love with it. I’ve put all my ARCs for the year so far into it and sorted it by release date and it’s so easy to keep track now.
Here’s my WWW post.

Glad you enjoyed so many of your recent reads. Seems like you had quite a productive week reading wise! I really want to read more of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s books since I loved both Daisy Jones and Evelyn Hugo last year. Have a great week!

That sounds like a great collection of CRs and recently finished-s. I have to admit I don’t know most of them but I still have “Night music” on my tbr. I hope I will get to that book maybe this year.

Kyles, what a great amount and mixture of reading you have been doing. However I am sorry to hear you have lost interest in your re-read of Little Women – I love to re-read and really hope to do more of it this year. Happy reading!
