Netflix Book Tag

I don’t watch a lot of TV…but it is often on in the background…white noise for everyday life. And if I do it’s usually to binge watch an entire season…or two… of something on Netflix.

Netflix is my go-to of TV watching so when I stumbled upon this tag over on Kristin Kraves Books I thought it was one I should definitely participate in.

Recently watched – the last book you finished:

My first, but not my last Colleen Hoover novel; Regretting You was infinitely better than I expected it to be.

Top picks – A book/s that has been recommended to you based on books you have previously read:

Mhairi McFarlane‘s latest novel, If I Never Met You….because I’m a big fan Mhairi’s writing style and humour; having read quite a few of her books.

Recently added – The last book you bought:

I purchsed The Care and Feeding of Ravenously Hungry Girls by Anissa Gray a week ago today and it went straight to the top of my TBR pile. I can’t wait to start reading it.

Popular on Netflix – Books that everyone knows about (two you’ve read and two you have no interest in reading)

Read and loved both The Dutch House by Ann Patchett and The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes; two popular authors and two wonderfully written books.

There are so many well known books that I have zero interest in reading…the hard part is picking two, but I’m going to go with the Game of Thrones series by George R. R. Martin and The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkein.

Comedy – a funny book:

Anything Mhairi McFarlane…but this one is probably my favourite so far….Don’t You Forget About Me.

Drama – A character who is a drama queen/king:

EVERY SINGLE DAMN CHARACTER in The Gifted School by Bruce Holsinger…oh my drama!!!!

Animated – A book with cartoons on the cover:

Not exactly a cartoon but a drawing…..The Guest Cat by Takashi Hiraide….look at those beautiful eyes…the entire reason I bought this book.

Watch it again – A book/series that you want to reread:

I don’t ever reread but if I was suddenly to change who I am and decide rereading was my thing, I would definitely have to choose The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern first book.

Documentary – A non-fiction that you would recommend to everyone:

The Heart of Meditation by The Dalai Lama…..not the easiest read given that it is a translation from oral teachings, but still worthwhile for anyone interested in meditation, compassion and inner peace.

Action and Adventure – An action packed book:

The One Plus One by Jojo Moyes……not an action/adventure type book……. but woah….. this book felt like an unravelling of everything; one dilemma after another for poor Jess and her children …and just when you thought things were getting back on track… BAM! …some new disaster struck. For a romance, it was a bit OTT but for an action packed drama it worked for me.

Tag you’re it!

Happy Reading!
