Happy Thursday bookish peeps!
Thursday is beginning to look a little bit like Tag Day and although I wasn’t tagged in this one, it looked so interesting I couldn’t resist trying it.
Let’s do this:
Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
I have a whole ‘reading’ room but I very rarely read in there….although it has a lovely, comfy chair with a footstool, a side table perfectly placed for holding my coffee and ample natural light. Usually I end up reading in the corner of the lounge with my feet propped up on my husband’s lap.
Bookmark or random piece of paper?
Bookmark – I love them. I have two that I switch between – my fave has a Boxer on it; a constant reminder of my big puppy baby, Josie.
Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/a certain amount of pages?
I struggle to stop mid-chapter, pushing on until I get to the end.
Do you eat or drink while reading?
I drink copious cups of coffee when I’m reading but I don’t eat for fear of getting crumbs all through my pages.
Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?
With 3 other people living in our house, the TV is nearly always on in the background. I have learnt to tune it way out so that I can read in peace.
One book at a time or several at once?
At least 2 – one audiobook and either a physical book or something on my Kindle.
Reading at home or everywhere?
I read all over the place…the beach, park, car, work lunch room and always carry a book with me.
Reading out loud or silently in your head?
Do you read ahead or even skip pages?
Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?
I usually break the spines…yes I know for some that’s really, really wrong…but I like my books to look read, loved and lived in. Also it makes them easier to hold.
Do you write in your books?
I couldn’t even if I wanted to…my handwriting drives me nuts and I’d never be able to write neat enough.
When do you find yourself reading?
In the mornings with coffee, during my lunch breaks, in the car, in the evenings before bed…and any other time I can manage to fit it in.
What is your best setting to read in?
At home on the couch.
What do you do first — read or watch?
Definitely read. If I watch first I never end up going back for the book because I already know what is going to happen.
What form do you prefer? Audiobook, e-book, or physical book?
There’s nothing better than a physical book…the look, the feel, the smell.
Do you have a unique habit when you read?
Um…..I don’t think so…
Do book series have to match?
I don’t normally read book series but if I did they would absolutely have to match. I like my shelves to be aesthetically pleasing.
Tag you’re it!
