Happy Sunday bookish peeps!

I almost forgot to post today, having gone nowhere near my laptop all weekend, but I really wanted to be able to share this special day with you.
Today my son turned 21 today. I don’t even know how that happened…he was a sweet, smiley baby not that long ago.
It’s a milestone kind of day for both of us, after doctors told us this day might never come…a day worth celebrating!! ……Quietly and calmly because he doesn’t like a fuss. I think he’s pretty pleased to be celebrating in a social-distancing kind of way.
Speaking of social-distancing…how is everyone coping?
I hope you are all keeping well.
It’s strange to see so many of my bookish friends still in isolation when for me not much has changed. My normal routines of working during the week and weekends at home haven’t changed. I’ve got slightly shorter working hours which I’ve been filling with self-care and extra reading, but essentially my life remains the same. It’s easy to forget that there’s a pandemic happening.
Partly because I’ve made a conscientious effort to not watch or listen to the news…. as much as possible that is….protecting my own mental health and wellbeing.
Anyone else found themselves needing to pull back from the world a little?
Reading, as always, has been such an amazing way to get out of my own head….and my reading room is the perfect little sanctuary in which to escape.
