Why I don’t reread books

Hello, hello bookish peeps!!

If you’ve been around here long enough you would know I am NOT a rereader. I know that a lot of people are but it’s just not for me ….and here’s the why of it:

  1. Too many books, too little time……life is TOO short…….why would I choose to read a book when I already know exactly what is going to happen, how it’s going to happen and to whom? Why read the same book again when you can read something new….and exciting….and different?

2. There is always something new…and exciting …and different…..catching my eye and capturing my attention.

3. Publishers don’t EVER stop publishing highly readable books…..and I have to read them ALL!!

4. The FEAR……..what if I no longer enjoy that book? What if the joy that book held is gone?

I just can’t take the risk.

Do you feel the same? or are you an avid rereader?

What makes a book one that you want to reread?

  1. I’m not a huge rereader either. Mostly for the same reasons. I know what’s going to happen. I do have a few exceptions though. There are a handful of books that just move me so much, I’ll never tire of rereading them. Going back to them is like visiting an old friend.
But those books (lol Harry Potter) are the rarities. Mostly, I read a book and then I’m good with it.
