It’s time to wrap up June in a whole other way now…..in a not-so-bookish way.
Not-So-Bookish Things is a monthly post designed to share more than just my love of books; to share what is capturing my attention and heart personally; in my family life; through travel; musically and on screen. To share the things I love and the things I am grateful for. And hopefully give you an insight into my life outside of this bookish world.
I have been torn about whether or not to keep this post going…and I actually skipped it last month but then I regretted it….so for better or worse, I’m going to attempt to stick with it at least until the end of the year.
What I’ve been watching:
I’m am completely hooked on watching re-runs of both Criminal Minds and NCIS. I love the profiling aspect of Criminal Minds and I have a little thing for Jethro Leroy Gibbs….oh dear!…..that might be showing my age a little much…but then so might exclaiming ‘oh dear!‘
I’ve also binge watched Season 1 of Sweet Magnolias on Netflix last week. Highly recommend if you haven’t watched it already…it’s just so GOOD!!! Perfect for lazy afternoon, under blankets binging. Can’t wait for Season 2.
What I’ve been listening to:
Diamonds – Morgan Evans – such an earworm….I sing and hum this all day. “I love you like a diamond and diamonds are forever”…I just can’t get it out of my head.
What I’m grateful for:
Working towards a shared dream with my hubby. We have been saving for little while now to buy a block of land to build our dream home on – somewhere a little bit country, surrounded by trees with views to the mountains.
The Best Bits:
- Finding the dream block.
- All the traipsing around looking for just the right one – the long drives, the car tunes, the stops offs at local bakeries.
- Homemade Lemon Meringues – one of my favourite treats and something I haven’t made in years.
- A fridge/freezer full of baked goods…are you sensing a theme here? 😉
- Celebrating Christmas in almost July with work friends.
- Reconnecting with my best friend…finally…even if only by phone.
How has your June been?
What’s your favourite baked good? Are you a sweet or savoury kinda girl?
