Stacking the Shelves: October 2024

Hosted by Reading Reality, Stacking the Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, whether they be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, ARCs, gifts and of course e-books! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!

In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.

Let’s take a peek at what I purchased, downloaded or received in October.

Physical books:

I’ve only purchased 2 non-fiction books this month which I’m hoping to be able to jump in and out of over a period of time, unlike when I’m reading fiction.

  • The New Menopause by Dr Mary Claire Haver
  • You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay

Audiobooks:

I also downloaded 2 freebie audiobooks that looked interesting. The first by Hannah Beckerman, an author I have read and enjoyed before and the other by a completely new to me author, Christine Gunderson. (Ooh I just realised how similar there covers are….)

  • The Impossible Truths of Love by Hannah Beckerman
  • Friends with Secrets by Christine Gunderson

E-books:

Apparently I was less retrained on my Kindle app, downloading 3 books.

  • The Year that Changed Us by Helen Rolf
  • It Started with a Book by Camilla Isley
  • The Happiness Project by Helen Bridgett

ARCs:

I’m still avoiding the NetGalley catalogue as best I can and won’t be requesting anything (unless it’s by a favourite author or it’s something spectacular) until I’ve read and reviewed that last ARC sitting on my shelf.

What books did you add to your shelves this month? What are you looking forward to reading soon?
