Goodreads Monday is a really simple weekly meme, hosted by new host Budget Tales Book Blog, where you choose a book at random from your Goodreads TBR and explain why you want to read it. This meme is also an opportunity to share any progress you have made on your current books, Goodreads Reading Challenge or anything else Goodreads related.
This week’s pick is: Summer Romance by Annabel Monaghan

Benefits of a summer romance: it’s always fun, always brief, and no one gets their heart broken.
There aren’t enough labelled glass containers to contain the mess that is Ali Morris’s life. Her mom died two years ago, then her husband left, and she hasn’t worn pants with a zipper in longer than she cares to remember. She’s a professional organizer whose pantry is a disgrace.
No one is more surprised than Ali when the first time she takes off her wedding ring and puts on pants with hardware—overalls count, right?—she meets someone. Or rather, her dog claims a man for her in the same way he claimed his favorite of her three children: by peeing on him. Ethan smiles at Ali like her pants are just right—like he likes what he sees. The last thing Ali needs is to make her life messier, but there’s no harm in a little Summer Romance. Is there?
Why do I want to read it?:
It’s Summer here in Australia and this seems like a fun, beachy read. I imagine myself laying on a towel in the sand or by a pool somewhere, soaking up the sun and reading a little romance.
This week’s reading progress:
I have really been enjoying the Christmassy romance novellas of the Under the Mistletoe Collection, mostly because they take less than an hour to read. I’ve read 3 out of the 5 books so far, the first one being my favourite by far. I surprised myself by giving it 4 stars.
It’s been a week of series reading. Having read and loved Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez this week, I have decided to go back and read the other 2 books in this series as well.
And I read an ARC of The Sirens by Emilia Hart, another 4 star read.
Goodreads Reading Challenge: 86/60 books
The Christmas Novella series sounds interesting. I keep seeing them around!
This sounds like a fun read. I hope that you are having a nice summer. Being in the dark, wet and windy UK it seems strange to me that it is summer where you are (I am however loving the darker cooler weather and I am currently lighting my house with Christmas lights 😂)
Have a great week!

I have extended family in the UK so I would love to experience a wintery Christmas one year.
Good luck getting your Christmas lights up. We aren’t doing that this year because our house still looks like a building site out the front. Hopefully next year.

It is generally cold and wet, but I love it! The lights all twinkly and cute. Sometimes we do get sun which is disappointing 🤣
Oh no! Fingers crossed that it gets finished soon!
