Weekly Bookish Wrap Up: 1st June 2025

Happy Sunday bookish peeps!

My Weekly Bookish Wrap Up is linked with the Sunday Salon and the Sunday Post.

The Sunday Salon is a meme hosted by Readerbuzz and is a place to link up and share what you have been doing during the week. It’s also a great opportunity to visit other blogs and join in the conversations going on there. While the Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and is a chance to share news. It’s a post to recap the past week on your blog and share news about what is coming up on your blog for the week ahead.

Non-bookish things:

It has been a quiet week, still wet most days but with short bursts of sunlight here or there to lift the spirit. I’ve mostly been focused on work this week, keeping the babies warm and dry while still fulfilling their needs to engage in physical activity such as climbing. We moved some of our larger outdoor equipment indoors to facilitate this and keep them from trying to stand on the table or bookshelves. This was mostly a success, however there is always a toddler or two ready to push the boundaries.

In the evenings, I have been working on setting up and customising my new tablet, creating new app icons and a collage wallpaper. I had so much fun getting creative digitally that I did the whole thing again for my phone in a different colour.

We finally had our family catchup for my son’s birthday last night, getting in takeaway and just spending time together. It was lovely to see them all, eat greasy fish and chips and sit on the lounge chatting.

Bookish things:

This week’s reading was mostly via audiobook because that’s all I had the energy for after a full week’s work.

First, I finished listening to One Two Three by Laurie Frankel which was everything I expected it to be – a powerful and compelling narrative, captivating characters, disability representation, sister bonds, self-discovery and all the feels. Secondly, I listened to Unlikely Story by Ali Rosen which took a little bit to get into but turned out to be a decent read. Thirdly I listened to Call Me Maybe by Cara Bastone which was a super fun, super cute romance and book 1 of the Love Lines series.

Moving into the new week, I want to listen to the other two books in the Love Lines series by Cara Bastone – Sweet Talk and Seat Mate. Each of these books are a little over 5 hours long to listen to but at 2x speed I should be able to almost do one book a day.

I am still trying to read Everything’s Coming Up Rosie by Courtney Walsh but I’m just not that into it. I am hoping that will change if I keep pushing though because I don’t want to DNF an ARC.

Bookish Challenges:

2025 Goodreads Reading Challenge: 53/75 books (71%)

Audiobook Challenge: 22/50 audiobooks

Non Fiction Reader Challenge: 4/12 books

And that’s my bookish week. How was yours?
