Weekly Bookish Wrap Up: 8th June 2025

Happy Sunday bookish peeps!

My Weekly Bookish Wrap Up is linked with the Sunday Salon and the Sunday Post.

The Sunday Salon is a meme hosted by Readerbuzz and is a place to link up and share what you have been doing during the week. It’s also a great opportunity to visit other blogs and join in the conversations going on there. While the Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and is a chance to share news. It’s a post to recap the past week on your blog and share news about what is coming up on your blog for the week ahead.

Non-bookish things:

After another quiet working week, hubby and I spent yesterday together, just hanging out. We went to The Olive Tree Markets in Civic Park, having mini Dutch pancakes for breakfast and browsing the stalls. Then we strolled the nearby main street, where we went to the secondhand book store and the fruit and veg market. We looked at the some of the large painted murals that are dotted around the city and I was intrigued by the beauty of the lorikeet’s eye and feathers. I found and fell in love with this ginger cat sunning itself in the window. Inevitable since I have never met a cat (or dog) I didn’t fall in love with.

Bookish things:

Again my week was audiobook heavy although, I did finally manage to finish the ARC I’ve been slogging through for almost a month now. Probably should have DNF’d it as it really slowed all of my reading down, but I am always reluctant to DNF an ARC.

On audiobook, I finished the Love Lines series by Cara Bastone, reading the second and third books – Sweet Talk and Seat Mate. As well as being quick and easy listens, this whole series was funny, romantic and so, so cute – the third book being my favourite of them all. On a roll for this type of book, I listened to The Love Haters by Katherine Center next. It was as good as I imagined it would be and has led me to add more books from this author to my TBR.

Next week, I plan on getting back into reading physical books, finally picking up The Ick by Holly McCulloch. I also intend to get back into reading some non-fiction. On audiobook, I’ve already downloaded No One was Supposed to Die at this Wedding by Catherine Mack, ready for heading back to work after the weekend. My next ARC is Slow Burn Summer by Josie Silver ands I will hopefully start on that this week too, although as I write all of that down that seems a lot. Maybe something will have to give.

Bookish Challenges:

2025 Goodreads Reading Challenge: 57/75 books (76%)

Audiobook Challenge: 25/50 audiobooks (50%)

Non Fiction Reader Challenge: 4/12 books (33%)

And that’s my bookish week. How was yours?
