Weekly Bookish Wrap Up: 27th July 2025

Happy Sunday bookish peeps!

My Weekly Bookish Wrap Up is linked with the Sunday Salon and the Sunday Post.

The Sunday Salon is a meme hosted by Readerbuzz and is a place to link up and share what you have been doing during the week. It’s also a great opportunity to visit other blogs and join in the conversations going on there. While the Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and is a chance to share news. It’s a post to recap the past week on your blog and share news about what is coming up on your blog for the week ahead.

Non-bookish things:

Honestly, it’s been an uneventful week. I went to work and came home. I cooked. I cleaned. Yesterday we did the groceries. Today, I’ve been creating documents for the nursery walls and will continue to do this throughout this new week. I did spend some time archiving old posts on this blog and streamlining the way I do things, which hopefully will make blogging easier to continue around my new responsibilities at work.

This week should be more eventful with my son returning from his adventures. I couldn’t be more excited to have him back in Australia and I’m really looking forward to catching up with him, hearing about all the amazing places he’s been and looking at the many, many photos he has taken.

Slow Cooker Sunday

I’m repeating the Chicken Noodle Soup I made about a month ago. It was a big hit and the perfect winter warmer that can be eaten for dinner and then taken to work the next day. This time I’ve made a double batch and plan on freezing some, if it doesn’t all get eaten straight away.

Bookish things:

I did it! I completed my Goodreads Reading Goal of 75 books on Thursday. That’s the quickest I’ve ever reached my goal so I’m pretty chuffed and interested to find out what my final number will be by the end of the year.

My 75th book was What If I Never get Over You by Paige Toon, a second… and third chance romance with an insta-love beginning and a whole stack of heartbreak and drama that could have been avoided – but where would be the fun in that? I’ve seen a lot of people say that they were disappointed by this novel, however I enjoyed what was my first read from this author and I would be tempted to read one of her other novels someday.

My 76th book was on audio – The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy by Megan Bannen, book 1 in the Hart and Mercy series. As I was listening to this book, I was so torn between liking it and loathing it. There were a few times that I vowed to just finish the book and then leave the series behind but, by the end, I was invested in the characters and their relationship. I still don’t know if I’ll pick up the second book. I wonder if it might be better as a physical book rather than an audio one.
