Oh my goodness! It’s been a minute since I’ve shared my 3Ws. My blogging has been non-existent for the past 5 or 6 weeks and I’m trying to feel okay about that, while re-joining the blogging community. It’s funny how much I’ve missed blogging but also how hard it has been to motivate myself to blog. Even though I haven’t been blogging, I have been reading – usually two books at once. And this week is no different. I have one audiobook going – The Return of Ruby Darling by Leeane Slade and one paperback for bedtime reading – Dust Storm by Maggie Gates. Both are romances, the first I picked up on a whim and the other I have waited for quite a while.

The Return of Ruby Darling by Leeanne Slade
Ruby Darling’s life is falling apart. Her engagement is over, her career as a travel influencer is in shambles, and she’s convinced the universe is out to get her. Desperate to turn things around, Ruby embarks on a life-changing journey to New Zealand to find her long-lost father, dragging along her estranged best friend, Nate.
As they navigate the stunning landscapes, Ruby and Nate’s friendship rekindles into something more. But with family secrets, cosmic curses, and their own emotional baggage to contend with, can Ruby find the path to true happiness? Or will she lose everything – including the one person who’s always believed in her?
Heartwarming, hilarious, and filled with wanderlust, “The Return of Ruby Darling” is the perfect escape for anyone who’s ever felt lost and found themselves in the most unexpected places.
Sometimes all you need is the open road, and a bit of help from the Universe, to re-evaluate what – and with whom – you’re truly destined to be.

Dust Storm by Maggie Gates
A single dad rancher and a rich city girl bump heads—and more—in this first cowboy romance in the Griffith Brothers series.
For Christian Griffith, his number one rule is: You ride in my truck, you let me open the door. Another problem in his busy life was the last thing he needed. Unfortunately, argumentative Cassandra Parker showing up on his family’s ranch and sticking her nose in their business isn’t even his biggest problem—neither is the fact that with nowhere else to live, she’s in his house. The biggest problem? The engagement ring on her finger.
Cassandra has a life motto: If you’re going to kill someone, make it look like an accident, cry at the funeral, admit to nothing, and deny everything. Exiled from New York and stranded on a cattle ranch, she didn’t exactly choose to be Christian’s problem. Living with the single dad and his daughters was a downgrade from her high-rise office and city comforts, but she agreed for one simple reason: desperation to save her job and salvage what’s left of her career. And this hot cowboy won’t lasso her into staying a second longer than necessary.
Recently finished:
I’ve read quite a few books since my last WWW Wednesday post…too many to share…so I will only share the most recent – How To Break My Heart by Kat T Masen. I’ve read so many books lately where the FMC runs a cafe/bakery and bakes all sorts of delicious things and this is just one more. The small town setting is lovely but I didn’t buy the romance between Eva and Ashton. In fact, I was about 70% into the book before the MMC stopped giving me the ICK. I think I would have preferred Eva with the dreamy doctor.

How To Break My Heart by Kat T Masen
Eva Woods is perfectly content with her quiet life in the picturesque town of Cinnamon Springs, where she owns a café infamous for its mouth-watering donuts. There’s even a cute new doctor in town that has caught the eyes of everyone, Eva included. But when her best friend, Maddy, asks Eva to join forces with her brother for the sake of her upcoming wedding, Eva’s quaint life is upended. Cold and rigid, Aston is the man who broke Eva’s heart back in high school. He’s also one of the country’s hottest billionaires.
With both Aston and Eva trying to outdo each other and stake claim as Maddy’s right hand man, the competition heats up. As their annoyance grows, so does their attraction, eventually culminating in a steamy night together in Aston’s New York penthouse. When Eva realizes her feelings may be a little harder to ignore than she had originally thought, she slips back to Cinnamon Springs and leaves Aston wondering what happened.
When the wedding day finally arrives and brings more than just flowers and cake, Eva and Aston are forced to finally reckon with their undeniable chemistry—and attempt to save a marriage.
What next?:
I haven’t touched an ARC for ages, so I probably need to read one or two of them next. Not sure which I’ll start with. It will be determined by mood as I go.
