Let’s Talk Bookish: Do you read on your phone?

Let’s talk Bookish is a weekly meme hosted by Aria @ Book Nook Bits where each Friday bloggers write blogposts discussing the topic of the week, sharing their opinions and spreading the bookish love by visiting each other’s posts.

This week’s topic is: Do you read on your phone?

Prompts: Do you read on your phone? E-books? Audiobooks? Or nothing at all? If you like to read e-books, do you prefer an e-reader with a bigger screen? Or is the smaller phone screen not a problem? In your opinion, what is the most convenient reading format?

Discussion:

I am currently listening to an audiobook on my phone as I type my answer to this prompt. I tend to use my phone every day for audiobooks but prefer to use the large screen of my tablet for e-book reading. I no longer find it comfortable to try and read on my phone. The older I get, the bigger screen I need.

As for format, I listen to audiobooks every day on the way to work and back. Over a third of my yearly reading is completed through these trips because it is just so convenient (and more enjoyable) to read a book while driving.

  1. I don’t like reading on my phone but I will do it if it’s more convenient then taking my book out. For instance at work if I’m working the reception desk I prefer to have a physical book but on the bus I don’t mind reading on my phone or my eReader.

I only read physical books or my eReader when I’m at home though because I can get comfy.

    1. I agree on needing to focus when listening to audiobooks. I can only listen to them while I’m driving. If I was at home trying to listen I’d be side-tracked by so many things (my hubby, the pups, the housework, all the stuff on my desk) and would miss a whole plot point and be lost.
