2025 Bookish (and not-so-bookish) Goals

Happy 2025 bookish peeps!

Who else feels like 2024 flew by?

It was a bit of a blur, particularly at the end, but I’m excited to be starting fresh in 2025. The start of a new year always feels good – life affirming and open to all the possibilities.

There are so many things I want to accomplish this year and positive changes I want to make in my life. I honestly can’t wait to get started and I’m looking forward to being able to share my progress along the way.

Not-so-bookish goals:

The usual resolutions:

  • Renew my daily habit of spiritual practice – meditation, yoga, daily gratitude
  • Eat more mindfully and exercise regularly
  • Do more of what I love – being creative in any way, reading, blogging, connecting with my peeps

More detailed goals:

  • Create a native garden and invite all the birds in
  • Create meditative indoor and outdoor spaces in my home
  • Learn more about holistic therapies – crystals, essential oils etc.
  • Set up a cosy reading nook – design and build book shelves using Ikea flatpacks and buy the comfiest chair
  • Travel near and far – take photos of everything
  • Go on a Disney cruise with my daughter

Reading Goals:

  • Read 75 books this year
  • Read at least 6 – 7 books per month
  • Read a little (or a lot) every day
  • Listen to audiobooks every chance I get – in the car, around the house, walking the dogs
  • Read only what interests me – don’t be afraid to DNF books that don’t
  • Plan my reading/reading challenges
  • Keep my TBR in check
  • Use my reading tracker

Reading Challenges:

Goodreads Reading Challenge: 75 books

Non Fiction Reader Challenge: Non Fiction Grazer – 12 books

Audiobook Challenge: Marathoner 50+

Blogging Goals:

  • Create a blogging schedule and stick to it
  • Post 4-5 times a week consistently
  • Participate in challenges/tags/memes
  • Read, like, comment more
  • Increase my subscribers to 300 (currently 251)
  • Create social media accounts that link to my blog

And that’s them…my 2025 goals – personal, reading and blogging.

Have you set your goals for the year yet? Link your goal post or if you don’t have a post just let me know in the comments.

I look forward to sharing your reading journey in 2025.

  1. I’ve set my goals as well! I’m going to doing yoga 3x a week this month and then a 30 day morning challenge on YouTube in February. My bookish goals are to go to two author talks and two library events that are not book clubs ( I always go to book clubs).

Your goals are great and I always DNF when I’m not feeling it so I encourage the same for everyone.

    Happy New Year!

    1. Happy New Year!!

Fantastic goals! I would love to do more (any) bookish events or join a book club but I’m so introverted I don’t even know where to begin. Maybe that should be a future goal.

  2. Your “usual” resolutions are great. Mindfulness is something that I always strive for.

Our reading goal are similar. My goal is six books per month so I set Goodreads at 72.

I hope you achieve all your goals!

  3. Good luck with your goals! I need to be better about DNFing books that really are not for me. I almost always push through to the end and put myself in a reading slump. I don’t think I’m quite as bad with fiction books but I definitely try to keep going with nonfiction for some reason.
