New Year’s Book Tag 2025

Happy Tag Thursday!

Today, I want to do a tag that I found on Books are 42.

Even though we are over halfway through January, I feel like I am still settling into the year and this tag is another good way for me to reflect on what I want to achieve this year.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find out who originally created this tag. If you know, please let me know so I can give them credit.

The Questions:

  • How many books are you planning to read in 2025?
  • Name 5 books that you didn’t get to this past year but want to make a priority in 2025.
  • What genre do you want to read more of?
  • Name 3 not-related-to-book goals for 2025
  • What’s a book you have had forever and are determined to read?
  • One word that you’re hoping 2025 will be

The Answers:

How many books are you planning to read in 2025?

My Goodreads Reading Challenge goal is 75 books and anything above that is a bonus. The most I have ever read in a year is 94 books, that was last year, but I would love to reach the magic number of 100 sometime.

Name 5 books that you didn’t get to this past year but want to make a priority in 2025:

How to Age Disgracefully by Clare Pooley

The Summer of Yes by Courtney Walsh

Summer Romance by Annabel Monaghan

Hold my Girl by Charlene Carr

Family Family by Laurie Frankel

What genre do you want to read more of?

I read a lot of romance and contemporary fiction so it would be nice to branch out a little. Maybe read some more fantasy/magical realism or mystery/thriller or historical fiction…honestly, I’m a mood reader, so I just read whatever I’m feeling at the time. There’s no real plan or specific goal…just reading books that I enjoy.

Name 3 not-related-to-book goals for 2025:

Go on a Disney Cruise with my daughter – this is a goal I’ve had for a while and is happening this year. 18 sleeps and counting till we board…

Explore more – take more trips, go on long drives, enjoy walks in nature, spend more time exploring near and far

Take more photos….be in more photos

What’s a book you have had forever and are determined to read?

I have a lot of spiritual, non-fiction books that I have purchased with the intention of reading, wanting to learn more about holistic therapies, meditation, affirmation etc. so there isn’t one specific book but a whole stack of books waiting to be read this year.

One word that you’re hoping 2025 will be

I’m hoping to make 2025 all about ‘connection’ – with my authentic self, my family, friends and community.

  1. My meeting goal is 72. Not sure if I’ll make it because I’ve never tracked how many books I’ve read in a year before. Maybe in 2026 I’ll just make it one and see how many I read. The 2024 box all look good, I hope you are able to read them this year. I hope you and your daughter have a lot of fun on your Disney cruise! I like your explore more goal.
