Weekly Bookish Wrap Up: 24th August 2025

Happy Sunday bookish peeps!

My Weekly Bookish Wrap Up is linked with the Sunday Salon and the Sunday Post.

The Sunday Salon is a meme hosted by Readerbuzz and is a place to link up and share what you have been doing during the week. It’s also a great opportunity to visit other blogs and join in the conversations going on there. While the Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and is a chance to share news. It’s a post to recap the past week on your blog and share news about what is coming up on your blog for the week ahead.

Non-bookish things:

It’s my birthday week which means we are going away for a few days…woohoo!! We’ll be heading south and a little inland to visit some country towns and fill our bellies with all the good food. And I’d love to find a lovely little pub with a fireplace for my birthday dinner. There’ll be bushwalking, waterfalls and lots of shopping. I’m hoping to visit bookstores and yarn shops, treating myself to some special purchases.

Last week at work was super busy and yesterday I went to a seminar for the whole day, so I’m really looking forward to having a few days annual leave. The seminar was amazing. I came back so inspired and ready to make some changes in our nursery studio space.

Slow Cooker Sunday

Nothing this week…again. Still waiting on the replacement crockpot.

Bookish things:

I finally finished The Menopause Brain by Lisa Mosconi PhD, skipping to the pages of interest and leaving the rest. I have already read quite a few books on this topic, so I found it easy to pick and choose what bits to read.

On audio, I listened to Beach Reads and Deadly Deeds by Allison Brennan and The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna. Both were narrated perfectly to fit the story – something that doesn’t always happen. I find audiobook narrators to be a bit ‘hit and miss’ sometimes but I can highly recommend these books. I loved the Secret Society so much, I instantly downloaded A Witches Guide to Magical Innkeeping by the same author with the same narrator, listening to it in the car to and from the seminar.

Bookish Challenges:

2025 Goodreads Reading Challenge: 84/75 books (112%)

Audiobook Challenge: 43/50 audiobooks (86%)

Non Fiction Reader Challenge: 6/12 books (50%)

#20BooksofSummer2025: 20/20 (100%)

And that’s my bookish week. How was yours?
