Weekly Bookish Wrap Up: 9th November 2025

Happy Sunday bookish peeps!

My Weekly Bookish Wrap Up is linked with the Sunday Salon and the Sunday Post.

The Sunday Salon is a meme hosted by Readerbuzz and is a place to link up and share what you have been doing during the week. It’s also a great opportunity to visit other blogs and join in the conversations going on there. While the Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and is a chance to share news. It’s a post to recap the past week on your blog and share news about what is coming up on your blog for the week ahead.

Non-bookish things:

What a unusually busy week I’ve had, mostly due to my first week back to uni studies. I’ve always wanted to study Psychology but life has gotten in the way until now. I’m super excited to be learning again, particularly as it’s all online and I can almost do it at my own pace. Obviously I’ve had to create a study plan so I don’t get too side-tracked or burnt out and I still have to turn in assignments on time but I feel like I am ready.

I don’t know what affect this will have on my blogging but I’m hoping to be able to do both. Fingers crossed. I love this little blog and I want to be able to keep it going. I love being able to share the books I’m reading with others, alongside titbits of my life and will definitely still be around in the bookish community for time to come.

Bookish things:

While I expect I’ll be doing a LOT of reading for uni from now on, I hope that I will still be able to read for pleasure as well. Thank goodness for audiobooks. I think as I move forward, I’ll be relying on my in car reading more and more but I still hope to be able to pick up a physical book every now and then.

Over the last two weeks, I’ve read three books – Story of my Life by Lucy Score; This Book Made Me Think of You by Libby Page and Famous Last Words by Gillian McAllister. I actually listened to two of these, making the most of my travel time.

I listened to the Story of my Life and found the narration to be perfect. I actually laughed so much throughout this book, loving every second of it and really enjoying the story. I also listened to Famous Last Words, a thriller for something different. This was my first book by this author and although it was less thrilling than I had maybe wanted, it was a captivating read. I couldn’t wait to get to the end to see if my predictions were correct and see how it all came about. I think after this one, I would be tempted to read another of McAllister’s books. So if you have any recommendations, hit me with them.

This Book Made Me Think of You was an ARC that I received through NetGalley, the concept of which I loved. From the minute I read the blurb, I knew I wanted to read this book. Unfortunately, I think it fell a little short on the promise of what it could have been. It was still a lovely read, a little slow maybe but also rushed…it’s hard to explain. I don’t regret reading it and you probably won’t either. Heart eyes forever book lover and bookshop owner Alfie.

This week I am still reading Soul Searching by Lyla Sage. I put it down for just a sec and then promptly forgot about it. I am going away for a week mid November so hopefully I will remember to take that as my beach read. I’m also reading another ARC called The Mad Wife by Meagan Church which I can barely put down.
