It’s Monday! What are you Reading?

Hosted by Kathryn at The Book Date #IMWAYR is a weekly meme to connect with fellow readers. It’s a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading. It’s a great post to organise your upcoming week and an opportunity to visit other bloggers … and of course, add to your groaning TBR pile!

It’s a new week and as usual I have a bunch of different books on the go at once.

Here’s what I’m reading:

On my bedside table: a favourite author

The Night We Met by Abby Jimenez

In everyone’s life, there’s a split-second decision that can change everything…

For Larissa, it came when choosing which guy to ride home with after a concert. That night, she had no idea she’d met the perfect man. She and Chris are great together, co-parenting a slightly unhinged rescue Yorkie, sharing their favorite books, and judging bread (pumpernickel for the win!). For the first time amid all her side hustles to scrape by, things finally feel easy.

But Chris isn’t the one who drove Larissa home all those months ago—Chris is her boyfriend’s best friend. All Chris wants is for Larissa to be happy. Standing by on the sidelines is slowly killing him, but making a move would destroy someone else. And he’s just not that guy.

On audio:

Just Add Happiness by Julie Hatcher

At forty-six, Sophie Bianco’s life is half baked—trapped in a controlling marriage and estranged from her critical mother. Her only solace? The Invisible Baker, her secret business helping overwhelmed moms create Pinterest-worthy moments.

When her mother’s death coincides with the last straw in her marriage, Sophie grabs her chance. Armed with divorce papers and her savings, she reclaims her childhood home. But freedom comes with hoarder-level chaos, plumbing disasters, and an ex-husband plotting revenge. When her daughter announces an engagement that echoes Sophie’s own mistakes, the past threatens to repeat itself.

Desperate for income, Sophie takes a position as a pastry chef, finding unexpected sweetness in both the work and the charming restaurant owner. But as family drama and professional opportunities collide, Sophie must finally answer the question she’s been Who is she when she’s no longer invisible?

On my kindle app: I downloaded some Amigurumi crochet books, which I’m not so much reading, as perusing for inspiration. I haven’t tried to make little plushies before but my daughter has requested some sea life and I’m going to give it a try.
