I was initially uncertain about whether or not I would participate this year but as I began to see everyone’s sign up posts I got excited. And now here I am writing my own sign up post.
20 Books of Summer is an annual bookish event created by Cathy at 746 Books and hosted by AnnaBookBel. Running from Monday 1st June to Monday 31st August, the #20BOS2026 has no real rules. You can sign up to read 10, 15, or 20 books from your TBR, pick your books in advance or read by mood, and swap books in or out of your list at any time. 20 Books of Summer is simply an opportunity for a great season of reading whether you’re in the southern or northern hemisphere and a chance to make a dent in your TBR.
This year I’ve decided to focus on reading just 10 books – 5 that I will choose in advance and 5 left for mood reading. I don’t have a very big TBR to choose books from and the majority of my TBR are romance reads. The few books that are not romances are the ones I plan on focusing on, taking this opportunity to read outside my comfort zone.
My 5 pre-decided books:
- Enormous Wings by Laurie Frankel
- The Girls Who Grew Big by Leila Mottley
- Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke
- Little One by Olivia Muenter
- The Maid by Nita Prose
The other 5? … shrugs.
Wish me luck and happy reading!

Good luck with your challenge! I’ve not heard of any if your books you picked so I’m off to Goodreads to check them out! Have a fantastic week Kyles and thank you for the follow. I followed you back!📚☕💜
You’re welcome Susan and thank you too. It’s lovely to make new bookish friends. 😊📚💜
The Maid is very good and I’m hearing lots of buzz about Yesteryear. Happy Winter reading.
Thanks Joanne. Audible gave me a little preview for Yesteryear and I was instantly drawn in. I’m excited to listen to it next.
I’ve read three of the books on your list—Enormous Wings (quirky!), Yesteryear (quirkier), and The Maid (a bit quirky). Some great choices.
Excellent! I do love quirk!
So many have Yesteryear in their plans (including me)! We could have a readalong…
Absolutely we could 😊
