It’s been a very long time since I have written a weekly wrap up post and I’m here to say, I kinda missed it. So I’m bringing them back.

Non-bookish things:
My study has been making me absent…much more absent than I’d like to be.
I’m currently on semester break after completing my exam on Wednesday. This was my first exam in over 10 years and it was online with a virtual proctor so it was all a little bit daunting. I have no idea if I have passed this subject or not… and I’m kinda basing my next move on that. I haven’t been enjoying my return to study like I hoped I would and I am definitely finding it trickier than I used to. I understand that there are a lot of mature aged students out there but I really am uncertain about whether I will be able to continue my degree.
I think a big factor in my decision will be the amount of time I have to put in to study. Working full-time and studying is leaving nothing left at the end of the day – for me, my kids or my hubby. I feel like I’m missing out on a lot… probably too much.
Or…maybe I’m just in a slump because I spent an entire 3 day weekend studying and spent no time doing anything I enjoy.
In other non-bookish things – we almost have front fences and a gate. We will have been in our house 3 years at the end of the month so this is beyond exciting for me but also for our pups who will be able to go outside without their leads. We probably still have a few more weeks in making sure the yard is safe for them to enjoy – blocking off any and all spots where they might dig themselves out or snakes might come in. And then we can release the sausages.
Bookish things:
I rarely get the opportunity to read a physical book, mostly relying on audiobooks and the occasional Kindle book. I did, however, just pick up Fever Dream by Elsie Silver. I have read one or two of her books before but I have never read an entire series …until now. Fever Dream has me completely hooked at only 78 pages in and if it continues the way I hope it will, I will definitely be reading the whole Emerald Lakes series as it is released.
Maybe I have missed reading paperbacks… or maybe I have missed cowboys… either way I purchased the whole Lucky River Ranch series by Jessica Peterson in paperback after reading the first book on Kindle Unlimited. With 5 books in the series, I should be set for cowboys romances for a little while.

So kind, in fact, that Vin offers to let Roz draw him. What is she supposed to say? It’s probably better than her original plan of finding some random male model online, and she needs all the practice she can get. Plus, that’s sure to make a separation easier, right? Focus on every detail of your estranged spouse’s body while drawing him in the nude? But after the year they’ve spent avoiding each other, it feels good to see and be seen by one another again.
As Roz works to capture the wholeness of the person she fell in love with, will they both be able to draw upon the feelings they buried deep inside to finally heal together?

I totally get that. I took a 2+year break from blogging, AND reading while I was in school for my certification. I’m just now trying to get back into the groove of things.

You have my profound sympathy in getting back to studying – when I began studying again in my 30s for my teaching degree, I found it very difficult. Especially as, like you, I was also juggling family life with children. Best of luck!
Thank you. I find out this week if I passed and then I’ll have to have a long hard look at my life and decide what I want to do moving forward.
I completely understand! It was a life-changing event for me – I met my second husband while studying for my degree, but I do look back on my time there and recall what a slog it was!
