A little lookity into other areas of my life… besides books.
It’s raining, it’s pouring…and we’ve been inside…a LOT!
I think I feel it most at work because we aren’t always in a position to take the babies outdoors. We’ve had a few new babies enter care over the last few weeks and we’ve been very busy building bonds and learning each child’s unique rhythms. When we do get to go outside – when all the feeding, sleeping and nappy changes align – we play in all weathers, donning our rainsuits and splashing in puddles.
At home, it’s much the same. I am mostly indoors but I love it. I’m happy curled up with a book or colouring in. I’ve downloaded the Artful Agenda app and have been getting myself organised and colour coded – which makes my little auDHD brain sing. And I’m still fiddling with my crochet.
Listening:
Mostly audiobooks. My daughter did create me a new playlist of all her current faves but I am yet to listen to it. I just keep forgetting it’s there.
Watching:
I have been binging Dutton Ranch with my hubby and have caught up to everyone else. I’ll watch the last episodes of the season in a sitting once they have all been aired. While we are waiting, we’re watching The Rookie because we both enjoy a police drama every now and then.
Creating:
The lap blanket I was making is completed and it’s gorgeous. I will be making this pattern up as gifts for Christmas in a variety of colourways, I think (if time allows). Hubby even picked out some wool he likes and asked me to make him one. So that pattern is a hit.
Not a hit is the hexagon cardigan I’m currently attempting. I’ve used the hook size the wool suggests but I don’t love how holey it is looking. I may end up frogging it and attempting it with a smaller hook. Or I could just start over with a nicer wool. Who knows? I haven’t decided yet and it can stay in the basket until I figure out what I want to do.
Has anyone ever made a hexagon cardigan themselves? Any tips? I’m still super new to crocheting but I LOVE it!
