Besides Books…

A little lookity into other areas of my life… besides books.

Honestly, I continue to be in quite a bit of pain and have had one ailment after another given to me from my babies at work, so have been spending lots of time on the couch, either napping or watching TV. I’ve decided to defer my uni studies for a teaching period with hope that I will feel better by the time the next one starts.

What I’ve been watching:

I remember watching Little House on the Prairie when I was young so I wanted to watch the Netflix remake. As a show it was a good watch…I did, however, do a little research on Laura Wilder and her life which took a bit of the shine off the show for me.

I cried my eyes out to Voicemails for Isabelle…and fell a little bit in love with Nick Robinson.

As soon as the second season of Ransom Canyon was released, I binged the whole thing in an afternoon. It was very easy to fall back into the story and get swept away.

I’m currently watching The Other Bennet Sister, a series I have wanted to watch since the last season of Bridgerton aired. I love British period dramas…all the pomp and ceremony…and ridiculousness. The romance is always wonderful too.

What I’ve been creating:

While I was home unwell, my hubby bought me some colouring books to keep me occupied and in the process created a new obsession for me. Since then I have bought a whole stack more, purchased some very expensive markers and been watching tutorials for different colouring effects. I’d forgotten how much I love to create with paper and ink and I am eager to keep exploring this new hobby.

I am still crocheting in the evenings when I feel up to it. I’m currently making a moss stitch lap rug as a gift for a family member. My aim is to create 4 -5 different lap rugs, one each for my sisters, mum, step-mum and mum in law. With this winter almost over, I hope to be able to give them at the beginning of the next cold season.

I’ve been collecting patterns and inspiration ideas from everywhere and this has almost become a hobby in itself. There are so many inspirational artists, creators and designers and so many projects I want to try my hand at.

Who inspires you to create? What are you creating at the moment?
